USA based UFO nutjobs - What if all of this was happening in France or Australia or something and the USA was completely silent on it?

I know that there's lots of people from around the world that are in the various ufo and alien subreddits that are interested in this. I'm curious what it'd be like if none of this was happening in the USA. No disclosure stuff, no presidents talking about "extraterrestrial files". No Marco Rubio talking about coverups.
