July 26, 2025. 9:00 PM. Genkai Nuclear Power Station. Four security guards near the main gate spot three glowing lights over the plant. At 9:36 the armed police unit stationed on site confirms them. Seen on and off for nearly two hours, the lights circle the site and pass close to two reactors. They’re last seen at 10:53 PM over a reservoir. The plant’s operator filed a nuclear-security report, the first of its kind in Japan’s history.
