Object M: does the 2017 ferrochrome analysis actually solve the Merivälja mystery?

I've been looking into the renewed interest around Object M, the strange Merivälja case from Estonia. The basic story is that in 1969, homeowner Virgo Mitt was digging a well when he reportedly encountered an extremely hard metallic layer several metres underground.
