On June 21, 1947, Harold Dahl was out cruising Puget Sound south of Seattle looking for logs to salvage when he saw six donut-shaped objects flying over his boat. According to Dahl, one of the objects began dumping white metal and some debris resembling lava rock which fell onto his boat, breaking a crewman's arm and killing a dog.
