He also co-founded the Center for American Progress and has remained influential in Democratic policy networks for decades.
Podesta has spent decades moving among White House service, campaign leadership, think tanks, teaching, and climate policy. He served as Bill Clinton’s chief of staff, founded the Center for American Progress, led Barack Obama’s transition, chaired Hillary Clinton’s campaign, and later returned to government on clean-energy implementation. His UFO-record advocacy persisted across those roles, giving the subject a rare sponsor whose access came from the center of Democratic policy networks rather than from a specialist disclosure organization.
Podesta has publicly argued that the government should release more of its UFO files. During the Clinton and Obama years, he became a point of contact for advocates seeking executive attention.
