Travis S. Taylor — American aerospace engineer, optical scientist, science fiction author; former DoD/NASA researcher
Travis S. Taylor is an American scientist distinguished by deep technical credentials, institutional ties, and media visibility. He holds multiple advanced degrees: doctorates in Optical Science & Engineering and Aerospace Systems Engineering, and masters in Physics, Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering, and Astronomy. His early formation includes a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.
These academic foundations support decades of research and applied work for the Department of Defense, NASA, and other government-affiliated entities. He currently serves as a Principal Research Scientist at Radiance Technologies.
Taylor’s expertise spans core areas relevant to aerospace, defense, and optics. His work—on record—has addressed advanced propulsion systems, large space telescopes, beamed energy platforms, and next-generation launch architectures. He has published technical papers and textbooks, and also maintains a second professional identity as a prolific science‐fiction author. His writing often reflects and informs his scientific interests, though fiction remains distinct from his peer‐reviewed work.
Public platforms amplify Taylor’s profile. He is known from television (“Rocket City Rednecks”, “The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch” among others) where he frequently bridges science‐fictional or paranormal premises with engineering rationales. His participation in documentary and reality‐adjacent programming brings visibility, but sometimes draws scrutiny regarding how “hard science” is framed in entertainment contexts.
Accuracy in what Taylor claims vs. what is demonstrably verified is important in his case. His published technical work and university degrees are established facts. Some claims—especially those made on television or in public engagements—are reported or attributed (e.g., investigations at Skinwalker Ranch). Their evidentiary status often depends on peer review, replicable data, or government declassification.
Open questions around Taylor include: how much of his current work (especially related to anomalous phenomena) interfaces with formal government UAP initiatives; which of his experimental findings meet the rigor of scientific publication; and how the dual role of scientist and media figure influences both public perception and internal credibility among researchers.
🚨 Navy claims there are no emails between Jay Stratton and Dr. Travis Taylor during the days of the UAPTF. Something doesn't seem right with this response. https://t.co/VNgMDUjv48

Hi everyone, I keep coming back to this case because it’s really interesting to me and objects were also seen on radar besides on video. Now, Marik VR, AARO, and Mick West have all decided these are Chinese lanterns that aren’t actually going into the water. This is the first time that Marik and Mick agree on something. But it seems the Age of Disclosure group with Jay Stratton, Travis Taylor and the SCU still think it’s anomalous. I just think it’s convenient that the only time it looks like...
