Narrative
During Admiral Richard E. Byrd’s first Antarctic expedition, a photograph was taken at Little America showing the base beneath the night sky. Byrd later reproduced the image in his 1930 book, Little America: Aerial Exploration in the Antarctic, the Flight to the South Pole. In 1999, Joe Fex acquired a copy of the photograph that appeared to show details absent from the version produced in Byrd’s book. These details included visible stars and four UFOs at varying distances above Little America...
