Serious question. Regarding alien-human hybrids, do aliens even have DNA?

So I've seen a few posts about alien human hybrids today and my first thought is, "why would alien life be based on DNA?" and if it is, why would it be compatible with human DNA to the extent you could create a hybrid? Is there a theory that aliens life is basically the same as earth life?
