If Lockheed had a NHI craft or pieces/ornaments from one, why did they need AAWSAP? The CIA had cancelled the crash-retrieval contract so no funding for Lockheed (or others) to continue reverse-engineering efforts. AAWSAP had $22 million and various scientists/experts already on the payroll and ready to go. Sources: @jaystratton and Dr. Eric Davis have talked about this in interviews.
