The NHI Phenomena- how complex is it truly?

I believe there are many many sides to the phenomena. I've seen people arguing over whether it's Demonic OR Alien in nature. What makes anyone say it isn't both and then some? Different kinds of Non Human Intelligence. Multiple kinds in each category, if you open your mind to all of the different reports and storys throughout human history.
