Andy Ogles is an American Republican politician who has represented Tennessee's 5th congressional district in the U.S. House since January 2023. A member of the House Freedom Caucus and the Financial Services Committee, he is among the House Republicans who comment most often on unidentified anomalous phenomena, and Ask a Pol UAP has identified him as a member of the Congressional UAP Caucus. He drew wide attention in April 2026 when he wrote that he had seen evidence "so classified that just knowing it exists makes you a target."

Born in Nashville in 1971, Ogles graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2007. He worked in conservative policy organizations, serving as the first director of the Tennessee chapter of Americans for Prosperity and as executive director of the Laffer Center, before winning election as mayor of Maury County, a post he held from 2018 to 2022. He won the Republican primary and general election for the 5th district in 2022 and joined the Financial Services Committee shortly after taking office.

His UAP involvement began at the 2023 House Oversight UAP Hearing on July 26, 2023, when he was waived onto the subcommittee to question David Grusch and former Navy aviators David Fravor and Ryan Graves. Ogles asked whether the objects could be "collecting reconnaissance information," said "there clearly is a threat to the national security of the United States of America," and urged the chairman to have Grusch speak to members in a secure facility. He also offered to invoke the Holman Rule, a House procedure for cutting specific salaries or programs in spending bills, against "any agency that denies access to Congress." In April 2024, after an AARO briefing in a secure room with caucus co-chairs Anna Paulina Luna and Tim Burchett, he told Ask a Pol UAP he was "unimpressed, as usual."

His comments grew more expansive as the Trump administration moved toward releasing UFO records. In a March 19, 2026 interview about the White House's registration of an aliens.gov domain, Ogles said President Trump "just wants to lay a baseline" and that "being the guy that revealed the truth — whatever the truth is — that'd be historic." He added: "There's some pretty compelling stuff out there." On April 17, 2026, he posted on X, "I have seen evidence so classified that just knowing it exists makes you a target," quoting a Daily Mail report on a "UFO cluster" over a base the paper tied to a missing Air Force scientist, amid wider public concern about missing scientists. He did not describe the material or say who posed the threat. Journalist Ross Coulthart responded that if the claim was accurate, it raised the question of "how out of control the national security state has become."

Ogles's UAP role has been that of a persistent rank-and-file voice rather than a committee leader. Since his first hearing he has framed the subject as a matter of national security and congressional access to classified programs, and his widely shared April 2026 post stands out as much for what he did not say about what he had seen as for what he did.
