Brad Olsen is an American travel writer, publisher and event producer based in San Francisco. He founded CCC Publishing, short for the Consortium of Collective Consciousness, and has written guidebooks to sacred sites, a series of books on conspiracy and esoteric subjects, and Secrets of Antarctica: Untold History of the Ice Continent. His UFO relevance comes through that later work, which presents disputed claims about secret bases, polar expeditions and unexplained activity in Antarctica.
Olsen has said he moved from Illinois to California in 1995 and founded CCC that year. His first book, World Stompers: A Global Travel Manifesto, appeared in 1996 and went through five editions. A three-year trip around the world, including long stays in Japan, Australia and India, fed the Sacred Places series, which includes Sacred Places Around the World, Sacred Places North America and Sacred Places Europe, each subtitled 108 Destinations. In 2007 the travel site Gadling profiled him as a publisher, writer, photographer and mapmaker.
In the 2010s Olsen moved toward fringe history with the Esoteric series, Modern Esoteric, Future Esoteric and Beyond Esoteric, a turn captured in a review his publisher quotes, which calls him a "travel author turned conspiracy writer." Future Esoteric won a 2013 Pinnacle Book Achievement Award in the New Age category, according to the publisher. Secrets of Antarctica, which CCC calls his eleventh book, covers early maps said to show the continent, Nazi Germany's New Swabia claim, Admiral Byrd's Operation Highjump and hollow-Earth theories, drawing on his own trip to the continent.
Outside publishing, Olsen founded the How Weird Street Faire, an electronic-music street festival on Howard Street in San Francisco's South of Market district. The faire ran from 2000 until its producers announced in November 2024 that they would not seek a permit for 2025, citing rising permitting and production costs. Olsen also hosted a syndicated radio program, The Esoteric Circle, and his site lists him as president of the World Peace Through Technology Organization and says he speaks at a dozen or more conferences a year.
In July 2026 Olsen gave a long interview to That UFO Podcast, released with a series of short clips. He discussed pyramid-shaped Antarctic peaks, the Piri Reis map, an account of Byrd losing radio contact for three hours and the anomalous radio events recorded by the ANITA balloon experiment. He argued that Operation Highjump, the 1958 Operation Argus nuclear tests and later Antarctic Treaty restrictions point to a hidden story, and linked the 1952 Washington, D.C., UFO sightings to his theory of a concealed Antarctic group; the show labeled these disputed claims. After three decades of travel publishing, Olsen has turned his imprint into a platform for alternative accounts of the polar continent that now circulate widely on UFO podcasts.
