House Adopts Rep. Eric Burlison's Amendment for UAP Disclosure Framework

The House adopted Rep. Eric Burlison's UAP disclosure amendment as part of the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act, moving the proposal beyond committee consideration and into the House-passed defense authorization bill. If enacted, it would establish a permanent UAP Records Collection at the National Archives, require federal agencies to identify, preserve and transmit covered records on a statutory timeline, create an independent Senate-confirmed review board with subpoena authority, and extend disclosure requirements to covered government contractors. The NDAA now moves to the Senate, so the amendment has not yet become law and may change during Senate consideration or conference.
