In honor of Jacques Vallee’s 87th birthday (September 24th), he is the patron saint of UFO-logy and his ideas are foundational in approaching the topic of UFOs and the Phenomenon. He is absolutely great but what are some of his more outlandish claims, wild theories or nonsensical ideas?

- Forbidden science 7: that UFOs/ the Phenomenon are some sort of advanced virus - UFO might not be spacecraft at all (“Demensions” page 253) - UFOs sometimes deliberately kill people (stated in a podcast April 2025) - That the US military has known holographic hoaxing technology (interview from 1986) - Maybe just his general over reliance on people’s personal stories
