Jacques Vallée: French-American scientist, venture capitalist & key UFO/UAP researcher.
Jacques Vallée is a French-American scientist, author, and technology investor whose work bridges astronomy, computer science, and the study of unidentified anomalous phenomena. Born in 1939 in Pontoise, France, he trained in mathematics at the Sorbonne, earned a master’s in astrophysics from Lille University, and completed a PhD in computer science and artificial intelligence at Northwestern University in 1967. Professionally, he helped map Mars for NASA, contributed to early work on ARPANET (a precursor to the modern Internet), and later built a career in venture capital, leading or co‐founding several funds, including those known as Euro‐America Ventures and NASA’s “Red Planet Capital.” These investments supported dozens of high‐technology and biotech startups—some reaching public markets or high‐impact acquisitions.
Vallée’s role in UFO/UAP research emerges from an early fascination: as a youth he reported sightings of aerial phenomena near his home in France, and later claimed to witness (in 1961) what he believed to be the erasure of satellite tracking data from an object orbiting Earth under mysterious circumstances. Growing from initial interest in the extraterrestrial hypothesis (that UFOs are alien spacecraft), he moved toward alternative frameworks—interdimensional hypothesis, consciousness‐based models, or phenomena that defy easy classification. He has argued that many anomalous sightings resist conventional physical or extraterrestrial models, pointing instead to patterns that suggest a more elusive and complex phenomenon than straightforward alien visitation.
His contributions to the field of disclosure and anomalous phenomena are both theoretical and practical. Vallée has written extensively—books like Passport to Magonia, The Invisible College, and journals under Forbidden Science—probing folklore, psychology, and the cultural shaping of reports. He participated in remote viewing experiments, consulted with governmental science and intelligence networks in the 1970s and ’80s, and served on advisory boards including ones linked to Bigelow Aerospace. Throughout, he has emphasized data, patterns, thoughtful classification, and historic documentation.
While some in the UFO/UAP community see Vallée as a foundational thinker—anchoring disclosure debates with scientific discipline—others critique his hypotheses as speculative. There is evidence that he has been consulted by official agencies and science boards in Europe on UAP reporting and analysis, and that he remains one of the most cited researchers when alternative explanations for UFOs are considered. His work matters because he refuses simple resolution: he insists that any credible understanding must accommodate anomalies—reports, instruments, folklore—that do not snugly fit into pronouncements about aliens or secret tech.
Vallée continues to live between San Francisco and Paris. He maintains leadership in Documatica Financial, investing in space tech, medical devices, and information systems. In parallel, he pursues research, writing, and involvement in French and international scientific efforts to catalogue and assess UAP reports. His perspective—centered on combining rigorous science, open documentation, and cultural insight—places him at a critical crossroads in conversations about what might ultimately lie behind those unexplained.

And when Vallée says NRO here, he means the National Reconnaissance Office… here’s looking at you, Mr. Grusch. https://t.co/nH6Yioe4Od

In 2021, Garry Nolan told Jacques Vallee that the DIA was setting up a UFO foundation funded by Peter Thiel in an effort led by Nolan, Lue Elizondo, and Avi Loeb. Well would you look at that... #ufotwitter #uapX Source: https://t.co/VOeF7HdpYA https://t.co/BXByavKLMU

🚨Jacques Vallee: The Layers of the UFO Phenomenon and Manipulation Vallee says that "We have to to understand it at three different levels. And the first level is the physical level." "The second level is what happens to witnesses." Loss of time, confusion ill effects and sometimes in some cases even rapid healing. "Then there is a third level" "The impact on our belief systems and at that level that's something that's very difficult to convey to the believers in UFOs or believers in little...

🚨Is a Non-Human Intelligence Here, and Keel's Cryptoterrestrials According to Jonathan Caplan KC, a veteran British barrister and King's Counsel, NHI are very much here and always have been in some shape or form. Ht touches on John Keels ideas about cryptoterrestrials which of Jaques Vallee has also written about. That the phenomenon may all be one and the same. #ufotwitter #uapX

Jacques Vallee - "Could it (UFOs) be manipulated purposely by people who have the technology to simulate UFO sightings...?"

"There might be two Boards: a scientific advisory board headed up by Dr. Nolan and an Academic board headed up by Avi Loeb." ~Vallée in 2021 (I don't mind the Theil money because beggars can't be choosers, but spinoffs and profit sharing on what is, potentially, the most important discovery in the history of our species? That bothers me. I know, I'm being naive and that's just how our capitalistic system works, and money/funding is needed to bring in the top scientists and researchers. But ho...
Vallée in FS7: “The coincidence struck us. Another T. Taylor? I asked a friend in mock astonishment. How many are there? He responded seriously. I think the first, alias Tyler in Diana’s book, was the physicist at the site with Nolan, namely Timothy Taylor. But he’s the quiet cover and Travis [Taylor] is the star. Timothy’s story is related to Pandolfi and TTSA. Travis isn’t party to that.” Even Vallée can’t help but notice 🪄
