Alex Klokus is an American entrepreneur, investor and documentary executive producer who moved from technology media into one of the most experimental corners of the UAP debate. He co-founded the science and technology news site Futurism, became a founder and managing partner of the SALT Fund, and was one of the founders of Skywatcher, a private group that said in 2025 it could attract unidentified craft over a range in West Texas. In 2026 he co-founded the AI physics company Physical Superintelligence.
Klokus studied at New York University's Stern School of Business and launched Futurism with Jordan Lejuwaan; the pair were named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 media list in 2017. He also co-founded Gravity Blanket, and Singularity University acquired Futurism in 2019. He was an executive producer of the documentaries Trust Machine: The Story of Blockchain (2018) and I Am Human (2019), which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
He brought the UAP subject to investor audiences as a moderator at SALT conferences. He interviewed Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb about the Galileo Project in 2022, hosted Stanford professor Garry Nolan at a 2023 SALT iConnections session and, in May 2024, questioned retired Army Col. Karl Nell, a former member of the Pentagon's UAP task force, at the same conference. NewsNation reported that Nell used the conversation to say non-human intelligence exists and has long interacted with humanity, a position at odds with the Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, which has reported no evidence that UAP are extraterrestrial.
NewsNation describes Skywatcher as co-founded by whistleblower Jake Barber, James Fowler and Klokus, who laid out its program in two videos on the group's website. Working from a base at Sierra Blanca, southeast of El Paso, the group said it used "electromechanical signaling," a so-called dog whistle, and "neuro-meditative interaction," better known as psionic summoning, to draw UAP, and it reported nine classes of objects on its sensors and cameras. Public activity then stopped: Fowler left in mid-August 2025, and the group last posted on X on Christmas Day 2025. In August 2026 NewsNation's Ross Coulthart reported, citing unnamed insiders, that Skywatcher had been reporting to agencies including NASA, the Defense Department and the CIA, and that the government had since adopted its techniques. He also noted that nothing new about the group's work had been posted in a year.
Klokus's next venture took a more conventional form. On September 1, 2026, physicist Alex Wissner-Gross announced that Physical Superintelligence PBC, which he co-founded with Matthew Pines and Klokus, had raised a $58 million seed round to build an AI-driven laboratory for physics discovery. MIT Technology Review reported that Breakthrough Energy led the funding and that the company's open-source tool helped find a new trajectory for the proposed Fermi Explorer probe to Alpha Centauri. That path, from staging UAP conversations for financiers to backing a summoning field operation and then a funded physics company, has made him a recognizable investor in the subject's recent history.

Alex Klokus + Matt Pines + $58M to discover new physics with AI. And one of PSI’s first projects? A privately funded interstellar mission. If you follow the UAP world, those names should already be setting off bells. https://t.co/fGqL0ZrgSC [Quoted] I'm delighted to share that Physical Superintelligence PBC (PSI), which I co-founded with @matthew_pines and @AKlokus, has raised a $58M seed round to build the world's most advanced research lab for discovering and commercializing transformative...

Ross Coulthart Q&A: Skywatcher didn't disappear — it went government
In this week's episode, Coulthart tackles the most requested question to date: What really happened to Skywatcher? The UAP research group founded by Jake Barber, James Fowler and investor Alex Klokus abruptly went dark.
In Part I of Skywatcher, the mystery gets real. We sit down with insiders involved in alleged UAP crash recoveries—and with people who claim they can summon unidentified objects in the sky. Featuring interviews with Alex Klokus, Jacob Barber, Dr. Garry Nolan, Dave Grusch, Col. Karl Nell, and Fred Baker, this episode takes you from behind-closed-doors conversations to an actual field experiment. Then, in real time, the team attempts to replicate the summoning process. What happens next... is b...
