Skywatcher is a private UAP research venture that said in 2025 it could draw unidentified craft to a field site in West Texas on demand. NewsNation describes it as co-founded by whistleblower Jake Barber, James Fowler and financier Alex Klokus. Its website presents it as an independent aerial-intelligence initiative staffed by former special operators, military aviators, intelligence officers and national security leaders. Its claim of repeatable, summoned contact made it one of the most disputed UAP projects of 2025 and 2026.

The group went public in spring 2025. NewsNation reported that April that Barber, a former Air Force airman and contractor who says he flew helicopters on secret retrieval missions, led a group claiming to have partly replicated a process it believed the U.S. government used to attract non-human technology. Journalist Ross Coulthart said the group reported that its electromechanical "dog whistle" had worked every time and that it would release video of nine shapes, including a jellyfish-like object. Skywatcher also said it had hosted representatives of the Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office at its private site, "The Range." Analyst Matthew Pines appeared on NewsNation as its strategic adviser, and in May 2025 Fowler described the operation to Jesse Michels in "Meet the Startup Summoning UFOs."

According to Coulthart's later reporting, Skywatcher worked from a base at Sierra Blanca, southeast of El Paso, pairing "electromechanical signaling" with "neuro-meditative interaction," better known as psionic summoning. The team said its sensors recorded nine classes of UAP, named Tetra, TicTac, blob, beam, manta ray, bright star, jellyfish, hornet and egg. People presented as Skywatcher psionic assets later gave interviews, among them former Green Beret Michael Battista; a creator known as orbsbythought, who said in March 2026 that he had been flown to "a military black site" to meditate and call in UAP; and Jordan Jozak, who told Michels in June 2026 that he had been trained as a child in a concealed psi research program.

Public activity then stopped. Coulthart reported in August 2026 that the last field operation took place in July 2025, that Fowler left in mid-August 2025 for "a new opportunity in aerial intelligence," and that the group last posted on X on Christmas Day 2025. Citing unnamed insiders, he said it had been reporting to agencies including NASA, the Defense Department and the CIA, and wrote that "it appears Skywatcher has indeed been dissolved." IBTimes UK noted that none of the insider claims had been independently confirmed. Commentators have separately cited an alleged Skywatcher/El Paso event as an example of UFO "luring," which no agency has acknowledged.

The group's claims have also drawn direct rejection. In a clip that circulated in May 2026, former AARO director Sean Kirkpatrick, asked about Skywatcher and Barber, said, "I found absolutely nothing credible about it," adding that they had produced no pictures, documents, video or data. Skywatcher's website lists public briefings and controlled data releases as planned, but no dataset has appeared. Its brief public run nonetheless produced the most explicit private claim yet of on-demand UAP contact, joining a whistleblower's retrieval account, investor money and meditative "summoning" in one field operation.
