Donald J. Trump is an American businessman and Republican politician who served as the 45th president from 2017 to 2021 and returned to office as the 47th president in 2025. Before politics he led a real-estate and licensing business and hosted The Apprentice. His presidencies have emphasized executive authority, political disruption, and direct communication outside traditional institutions.
Trump entered politics after decades in real estate, licensing, tabloid celebrity, and reality television, then remade the Republican Party around his personal style and media reach.
