Probed Analysis

Gary Voorhis Jr. is a former U.S. Navy technician and the co-founder and long-time president of UAPx, an organization dedicated to civilian scientific research into Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena. His engineering background is focused on electronics, RF systems, and shipboard fire control—fields requiring technical precision under constrained, high-stakes environments. Voorhis was aboard the USS Princeton during the November 2004 “Tic Tac” / Nimitz incident, a case that gained prominence after several public reports and government videos; he served as a witness to radar and visual phenomena associated with that event.

During his naval service he held roles as a fire control man and as an Aegis Computer/Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) technician. He was also responsible for operating, maintaining, and testing experimental upgrades to Aegis baseline 6.1 and non-Aegis sensor systems. His duties on the USS Princeton included both hardware and procedural oversight of top-secret or classified materials. These technical and maintenance responsibilities imply hands-on familiarity with radar, sensors, and system performance under operational conditions.

Reportedly, Voorhis was trained on the W.A.S.P. military reconnaissance UAV and worked in inventory and security of classified materials during service in the Pacific Fleet amid Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He claims firsthand experience with unfamiliar aerial phenomena, and he has provided interviews, including one conducted by Chris Mellon for a television program, based on what he saw aboard the Princeton. The full chain of evidence and corroboration of all details remains subject to contested testimonies and memory disputes in public discussion.

In 2019 he and Kevin Day founded UAPx to address the perceived lack of unclassified, high-quality data on phenomena traditionally labeled “UAP.” Under Voorhis’s leadership, UAPx has mounted field expeditions, deployed multiple sensor suites (optical, infrared, radiological), and sought academic partnerships. A significant development came when the University at Albany received an endowment, allowing UAPx’s research programme to transition into an institutionally supported framework; Voorhis has stated that UAPx Inc. will formally cease operations as its mission continues through the university.

Dave Beaty has a new presentation coming out soon about the Nimitz encounter. Previously he was one of the first to bring us interviews with Kevin Day, Gary Voorhis and others who were on the Nimitz and Princeton that day. His presentation from 2019 The Nimitz Encounters Updated With New Info has been one of the best recreations of the event. A few days ago Dave came out with information about a new witness, Jimmy Hernandez. Hernandez was able to follow movements of the people who came on boa...
