Michael Lazovsky is a Los Angeles writer and director who began in horror filmmaking and moved into UFO media through the WEAPONIZED podcast. He is best known as the director of Sleeping Dog, a 2026 documentary about filmmaker and UAP journalist Jeremy Corbell.

According to his festival biography, Lazovsky built haunted houses and worked as a scare actor at Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights before he was accepted as a directing fellow at the AFI Conservatory. His AFI thesis film, Magdalena, was one of twelve projects chosen for CAA's Moebius showcase, won the Golden Tadpole, the top student prize at the EnergaCamerimage festival, in 2022, and was later acquired by Cinedigm for its Bloody Disgusting horror platform. His short Stalled won the Jack Larson Southern California Filmmaker Award at KCET's Fine Cut Film Festival.

The same biography describes him as creative director of WEAPONIZED, the podcast on UFOs and the paranormal hosted by Corbell and journalist George Knapp and made with Cadence13 and Dark Horse Entertainment. That working relationship led to Sleeping Dog, which The Hollywood Reporter announced in March 2026 as a Falcon Scout Media release. The film opened in select theaters on May 8, 2026, and reached digital platforms on May 12. It runs 98 minutes, and Los Angeles magazine reported that Corbell, Jim Martin and Lazovsky produced it.

The documentary follows Corbell from mixed martial arts to a central place in the push for UAP disclosure, including his work with Knapp bringing military-filmed footage and whistleblower testimony to Congress. Its interviewees include Knapp, Bob Lazar, David Grusch and the Apollo 14 astronaut Edgar Mitchell. Film Threat's reviewer described an eleven-year investigation that darkens as Corbell meets whistleblowers who fear retaliation and his wife receives death threats. Lazovsky told Los Angeles magazine that the film does not try to say what the phenomenon is, only that something is happening and deserves examination. Chris Ramsay, who saw it before release, called it a raw and candid look at Corbell that was not always flattering.

Lazovsky promoted the film alongside its subject. In May he and Corbell gave their first joint interview to Dan Cleary of the podcast Others From Another Mother, and later that month he appeared on Coast to Coast AM with Knapp on a night that also featured James Lacatski, who directed the Defense Intelligence Agency's AAWSAP program. Sleeping Dog moved Lazovsky from horror shorts and podcast production into the center of 2026 disclosure media, giving one of the movement's most visible advocates a feature-length portrait made by a director who had worked beside him.
