Peter Doocy (born July 21, 1987, in Washington, D.C.) is an American journalist and Fox News' senior White House correspondent. The son of Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy, he is known for pointed questions at White House briefings and presidential press gaggles. In 2026 his questions to President Donald Trump and the White House press office, together with his reports on government UFO file releases, made him one of the most prominent mainstream reporters on the disclosure story.
After graduating from Villanova University with a political science degree in 2009, Doocy joined Fox News and worked in New York and Chicago before moving to Washington in 2010. He covered the 2018 midterm elections and the 2020 Democratic primaries, including Joe Biden's campaign, and was named White House correspondent in January 2021. His exchanges with press secretary Jen Psaki were widely shared, and in January 2022 Biden was caught on a hot microphone insulting him after a question about inflation, then called to tell him it was "nothing personal." Doocy was promoted to senior White House correspondent in June 2024, and since September 2025 he has alternated with Jacqui Heinrich as co-host of The Sunday Briefing.
On February 19, 2026, aboard Air Force One, Doocy asked Trump about former President Barack Obama's podcast remark that aliens are "real," pressing on whether Trump had seen evidence of non-human visitors to Earth. Trump said he did not know whether aliens were real and accused Obama of giving out classified information and making "a big mistake." Obama had separately clarified that he saw no evidence during his presidency that extraterrestrials had made contact. Trump then announced on Truth Social that he would direct the Secretary of War and other agencies to identify and release government files on alien life, UAP and UFOs.
On April 15, Doocy asked press secretary Karoline Leavitt whether anyone was investigating reports that ten American scientists with access to classified material had gone missing or died since mid-2024; she said she would check with the relevant agencies. On The Sunday Briefing he interviewed Rep. Eric Burlison on April 19 and filmmaker Jeremy Corbell on May 3, when Corbell urged release of 46 UAP videos requested by Congress. On May 8 Doocy presented what Fox called a "world exclusive" on the administration's first batch of UFO files, including Department of War videos and Apollo 17 transcripts.
On September 18, after a West Wing briefing, he previewed another White House release on Fox & Friends, including a newly digitized 1952 Utah film by Navy photographer Delbert Newhouse; the 1953 Robertson Panel had reviewed that footage and judged that it most probably showed birds. In the same report Doocy said senior White House officials told him they could not find copies of the Defense Intelligence Agency's AAWSAP records. Filmmaker James Fox later urged him to ask Trump about immunity for UAP whistleblowers, a request that reflected his standing as one of the few reporters regularly positioned to put the question to the President.
