Nicholson photographed three unidentified flying objects from the roof of his home in Paterson, New Jersey, while attempting to photograph one of the Sputnik satellites. The photographs were circulated by UFO researcher and photographer August C. Roberts and appeared in several UFO publications. Roberts later referred to the three images collectively as “The Nicholson Photos.”
