Todd Young is a Republican senator from Indiana, in office since 2017, and a former Marine Corps officer who sits on the Senate Intelligence Committee. In July 2023 he was one of six senators behind the UAP Disclosure Act, a proposal to gather government records on unidentified anomalous phenomena into a single collection with a presumption of public release.
Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, in 1972, Young grew up in Indiana and graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1995. Commissioned in the Marine Corps, he trained as a rifle platoon commander and served as an intelligence officer, including as head of the intelligence department of an unmanned aerial vehicle squadron, before leaving as a captain in 2000. He earned an MBA at night from the University of Chicago while leading a recruiting effort, followed by a master's degree in London and a law degree from Indiana University. He worked at the Heritage Foundation, as a Senate aide to Richard Lugar, as a management consultant and as a deputy prosecutor in Orange County, Indiana.
Young won Indiana's 9th Congressional District in 2010 by unseating Democrat Baron Hill and served three House terms. In 2016 he defeated former senator Evan Bayh for a Senate seat, and he was reelected in 2022. He chaired the National Republican Senatorial Committee from 2019 to 2021 and serves on the Finance, Commerce, Small Business and Intelligence committees. His signature law is the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022, which he co-sponsored with Chuck Schumer to expand semiconductor manufacturing and research in the United States.
Young's UAP work centers on the UAP Disclosure Act, a defense-bill amendment he introduced on July 14, 2023, with Schumer and Mike Rounds, joined by Marco Rubio, Kirsten Gillibrand and Martin Heinrich. Patterned on the JFK assassination records law, it would have created a records collection at the National Archives, an independent review board to justify any continued secrecy, and federal eminent domain over recovered technologies of unknown origin and biological evidence of non-human intelligence held by private parties. "The American people deserve transparency on all issues related to UAPs," Young said at its introduction. The version signed that December kept the archival collection but dropped the eminent-domain clause and other central provisions.
His UAP record is narrow but concrete, resting on his sponsorship of the 2023 measure rather than on hearings or a public campaign. Disclosure advocates have continued to cite him: in May 2026, when a commentator mocked lawmakers who say they have been briefed on UFOs, researcher Joe Murgia answered by naming Young alongside Schumer, Gillibrand, Heinrich, Rubio and Rounds. As a Republican member of the Intelligence Committee, Young gave the 2023 proposal bipartisan national-security backing at its launch.
🚨These are the UFO advocates in the Senate after the midterms Most senators on this list weren’t up for reelection this cycle (Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand, Todd Young, Martin Heinrich, and Richard Blumenthal) Mike Rounds, Schumer's partner on the UAP Disclosure Act, was on the ballot and won easily in South Dakota. Mark Warner won in Virginia, in what he says will be his final term. The one loss: Joni Ernst. She retired, and her Iowa seat flipped to Democrat Josh Turek. Ernst leaves th...

What an abysmal take. How did this guy amass over one million followers? SMDFH. Good responses in the replies. And, as @CuriousNHI started to say: Do you also count Senators Schumer, Gillibrand, Heinrich, Rubio, Young & Rounds as weird ones? How about Inouye, Stevens & Reid? https://t.co/eNwDQB8hBG [Quoted] Many congressmen pretend to have been briefed about “inside information” regarding UFOs. They are always the weird ones too that no one hangs out with. They have NO special information . W...
