• Night of Aug 8–9, looking north over the water along the Indiana-Michigan border • Dozens of slow-moving lights near the eastern edge of the Big Dipper, confined to a ~10° patch of sky • Usually one at a time (occasionally 2–3), about as bright as the stars, brightened then faded like flares • No strobing (planes that night were clearly strobing) • Independent trajectories and speeds — some appeared to slow, speed up, or move inbound • There were also a good number of standard meteors strea...
