Historian David Jacobs developed the most systematic version of the claim in books including The Threat and Walking Among Us. Drawing on interviews and regression hypnosis, he argued that recurring reproductive scenes reflected a coordinated, multigenerational project and later an effort to place hybrids in human society. His publisher and reviewers accurately present that as Jacobs’s conclusion from his subjects’ accounts, not as a finding supported by physical specimens or an identified institution.
The evidence is limited by its method. Hypnosis can increase confidence without guaranteeing accurate recall, and an interviewer’s expectations can influence a developing narrative. The accounts also draw on cultural material that changed as alien-abduction stories spread through books, film, television, and peer groups. No independently documented pregnancy, genome, medical procedure, or chain-of-custody specimen has demonstrated non-human intelligence participating in human reproduction.
The topic persists because it gives a single purpose to otherwise fragmented experiences: missing time, medical imagery, reproductive anxiety, and encounters with childlike figures. It should be described as a body of testimony and interpretation rather than a discovered program. A biological claim of this scale would require independently collected clinical records, consented genetic data, reproducible lineage evidence, and qualified review far beyond narrative similarity alone.
