The Sport Model is the name Bob Lazar gave to a flying disc he says he was assigned to study at S4, a facility he places near Papoose Lake south of Area 51, in 1988 and 1989. Lazar says it was one of nine saucers kept there and that he coined the nickname himself. In his description the hull was made of a metal resembling liquid titanium, and the interior was sparse, uniform in color and texture, with seats too small for adults.
Lazar first described the craft in 1989 on Las Vegas station KLAS, speaking to reporter George Knapp first as "Dennis" with his face hidden and then under his own name. He said a reactor fueled by Element 115 produced a gravitational field that three "gravity amplifiers" on the underside of the disc focused and directed. In later talks he said the craft hovered on one amplifier, which he called the "omicron" configuration, and traveled using all three in the "delta" configuration. He has also said one amplifier had been removed before he arrived, and in clips that circulated in 2026 he said the Sport Model had been recovered from an underwater archaeological site.
No authenticated document, sample or facility record has confirmed the craft or Lazar's role at S4. The contractor EG&G said it had no records on him, MIT and Caltech have no record of the degrees he claims, and Los Alamos records indicate he worked there as a contractor's technician rather than a physicist. Element 115 was synthesized in 2003 and later named moscovium, but its known isotopes decay within a fraction of a second, unlike the stable fuel Lazar described. Supporters point to the consistency of his account over more than three decades.
The Sport Model's domed disc with emitters beneath it has become one of the most widely reproduced UFO designs. Luigi Vendittelli's documentary S4: The Bob Lazar Story, released in 2026, rebuilt the craft and its reactor for the screen. When Universal released the poster for Steven Spielberg's Disclosure Day on March 12, 2026, viewers on UFO forums compared its saucer to Lazar's design; the comparison came from fans, not from the production. Other enthusiasts have likened the craft to Billy Meier's "beamships" and to Northrop's Tacit Blue demonstrator, keeping Lazar's 1989 description in active use.
Besides Bob Lazar's account of the sports model, do any credible accounts of UFO interiors come to mind? I made this one for an indie RPG about alien abductions, but I'd like to create some more maps of different UFO interiors. This one includes a lot of the UFO tropes, like an exam room, control room, gravity amplifiers, cattle mutilation, etc. But I think it would be really cool to make a series of maps that are more specific and "accurate" to real encounters. I was remembering the Billy Meier story and decided to peruse the archives of his contacts. One can’t help but see the similarities between the Meier Beamship/Scout Ship and Lazar’s Sports Model. Does anyone have any information or thoughts on this connection? This post is intended to spark a discussion. Would love to hear your thoughts!

One of my fave conversations on Rich Dolan’s channel is an old one by Alan Lavigne. In that the most basic, simplistic elegant, perfect, un-complex tech - from Roman Viaducts to Listening Bugs mimic the designs of what Lazar saw with the sports model and its propulsion system. Worth a watch and makes you think. Makes me think that what we see with the sport model may look entirely functional and simplistic, but the way metals are made and what’s going on with the propulsion is still way beyon...

It can only be seen in the last two seconds of the video, but I think this is the most interesting UAP video from the recent disclosure. Has anyone else noticed that this one is disc shaped? Are there any youtube videos I can watch discussing this particular video?
