DVIDS and the Department of War release portal identify it as a Department of War UAP file posted in the May 22, 2026 release tranche. AARO's public description says the uploader-defined title came from a classified-network upload and that the video is likely infrared footage from a U.S. military platform operating inside U.S. Central Command's area of responsibility in 2020.
That description is careful and limited. It does not say the object is non-human, technological, or even definitively anomalous. It says AARO assesses the file's likely sensor source and operating region, while preserving uncertainty around chain of custody and interpretation. The public record also states that some responsive materials identified by AARO after a March 6, 2026 congressional request lacked substantiated chain of custody. That caveat matters because a video clip without full metadata can be visually compelling while still being weak as evidence.
