The National Press Club occupies floors of the National Press Building near the White House in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1908, the club has long provided working space and public forums for journalists and newsmakers. Its UAP importance comes from that function: the rooms are a stage for press conferences, not a government investigative body or an institution that validates what speakers say there.
The 2001 Disclosure Project Press Conference made the venue a landmark in modern disclosure advocacy. Military and government witnesses described sightings, radar events, and alleged secrecy before a large press audience. The event put testimony into a durable public record and helped organize later activism, while the witnesses’ differing levels of firsthand knowledge still require individual evaluation. A rented room and broad coverage did not make the claims an official finding of the club or the federal government.
UAP speakers have returned to the building because it offers logistical access to credentialed media and a recognizable Washington setting. In January 2026, filmmaker James Fox used a club event to present witnesses and material connected to the Varginha Incident. Such events can surface new names, documents, or footage, but they also place presentation and advocacy ahead of independent testing.
The National Press Club Building is therefore best understood as communications infrastructure in the UAP story. It links witnesses to reporters and can move a claim rapidly from a specialist community into mainstream coverage. Its recurring use also explains why separate disclosure campaigns are sometimes remembered as a single institutional series. The continuity belongs to the venue and its media reach; the evidence must still be assessed event by event.
