Steven M. Greer is an American physician who left clinical medicine to become a full-time UFO disclosure activist. He founded the Center for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence and later the Disclosure Project, building networks of military, intelligence, aviation, and contractor witnesses willing to speak about alleged hidden programs.
Greer worked as an emergency physician before making UFO advocacy his full-time public career. He founded organizations, assembled military and government witnesses, produced films, led paid expeditions, and built a large audience around the promise of direct contact through group meditation. Over time, his message expanded from records disclosure to a comprehensive worldview involving suppressed energy, covert operations, and peaceful extraterrestrial intelligence. That institutional and commercial ecosystem has made him one of the field’s most durable and polarizing leaders.
Greer organized the 2001 National Press Club event that placed dozens of witnesses before a global audience. He has since produced documentaries, briefed public figures, and promoted CE-5, a protocol intended to initiate peaceful contact through meditation and group observation. Greer argues that extraterrestrial visitors are broadly benevolent and that covert human programs simulate threats or conceal advanced energy technology. Those larger claims go well beyond what the public witness record independently establishes.
Greer is a major organizer in UAP disclosure and channeling and CE-5. His lasting contribution is mobilization: finding speakers, creating public events, and giving “disclosure” its modern activist form. His strong interpretive framework and commercial programs also make precise attribution essential when separating a witness’s account from Greer’s conclusions about secrecy, motives, or origin.
