The Tic Tac UAP is the object reported during the 2004 USS Nimitz Tic Tac Encounter off Southern California. Navy aircrews described a smooth, white, oblong form without visible wings, rotors, exhaust, or control surfaces. The nickname came from its resemblance to the mint. It identifies a reported morphology and case, not a proven vehicle type appearing in every later oblong-object report.
The encounter developed after the USS Princeton tracked unusual radar contacts during carrier-group exercises. On November 14, Commander David Fravor and three other aviators were diverted to investigate. Fravor testified that he saw the object maneuver above disturbed water, react to his descent, and accelerate away. A later aircrew recorded the infrared clip commonly called FLIR1; that video was not captured during Fravor’s visual engagement.
The Defense Department officially released FLIR1 in 2020 with GIMBAL and GOFAST, confirming the footage was authentic Navy material and did not reveal sensitive capabilities. The short clip does not by itself provide the range and complete telemetry needed to calculate every apparent maneuver. The case draws its strength from the combination of trained eyewitnesses, radar accounts, operational context, and video, while gaps remain in the publicly available sensor record.
The Tic Tac became a reference point for UAP Flight Characteristics and modern congressional interest. Fravor’s written statement and testimony place his observations on the record, but they do not establish origin. The unresolved debate concerns whether the combined evidence reflects advanced technology, sensor and perception limits, or an incomplete reconstruction of several linked observations.

About two years ago I was walking along the back road behind my house in Pennsylvania. I was thinking a lot about death and the afterlife when I entered a meditative state and got the urge to look up. When I looked up I saw a white tic tac flying east very slowly. I watched it for several minutes. I didn't have my phone on me sadly but if you google tic tac ufo you'll find images similar to what I saw.
