Grant Lavac is an Australian researcher, commentator, and transparency advocate focused on how national institutions receive and assess reports of unidentified anomalous phenomena. Rather than entering the subject through a military sighting or a claim of privileged access, he built his public work around records requests, policy analysis, and interviews. His project, The Unexplained Rundown, collects documents and commentary on Australian and international cases.
Lavac has used Australia’s freedom-of-information process to press the Department of Defence and other agencies for records, briefing material, and internal correspondence. Those releases have helped document official positions that are often more limited than public expectations: Australian agencies generally direct reports toward aviation-safety or law-enforcement channels and have not announced an American-style investigative office. The work makes FOIA and transparency procedure itself part of the story.
He also appears on television, podcasts, and public forums to argue that Australia should treat UAP as an aviation, defense, and scientific question rather than a cultural curiosity.
