Probed Analysis

Paula Froelich is an American journalist, author and broadcaster who covers celebrities, the British royal family and the entertainment business for NewsNation, where she is a senior story producer and on-air contributor and hosts The Scoop. A former deputy editor of the New York Post's Page Six gossip column, she has spent more than two decades in celebrity and travel journalism. Her connection to unidentified anomalous phenomena is minimal: she has no documented UFO reporting, and her presence alongside UAP coverage comes from working for a network that made the subject a regular beat.

Froelich was born in Leeds, England, in 1973 and grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She spent the decade from 1999 to 2009 as deputy editor of Page Six, the Post's long-running gossip column. Her novel Mercury in Retrograde appeared on the New York Times best-seller list in 2009.

After leaving the Post she moved into travel media. As editor in chief of Yahoo Travel, she created and hosted A Broad Abroad, an adventure travel web series that launched in 2014 with short episodes filmed on different continents, from salt lakes in the Australian Outback to the fjords of Greenland and her childhood home of Leeds. The series won a 2014 Silver Award from the North American Travel Journalists Association, and she founded a website under the same name. Her NewsNation biography also lists a stint as culture and travel editor at Newsweek.

According to that biography, Froelich joined NewsNation in 2021. She presents "The Scoop" as a celebrity-news segment on the network's weekday morning newscast, Morning in America, and hosts The Scoop with Paula Froelich, a NewsNation podcast that by autumn 2026 was publishing about twice a week and promising to get past publicists to the real story. Her 2026 coverage centered on Prince Harry and Meghan's strained relations with King Charles and Prince William, the finances of the former Prince Andrew, the legal fight between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, and a $100 million lawsuit brought by a Survivor Greece contestant who lost a leg after a boat struck him during the show's production in the Dominican Republic.

Froelich's significance lies in celebrity, royal and travel journalism, from her decade at Page Six to her current entertainment and royals coverage for NewsNation. She stands apart from the colleagues who have led the network's UFO reporting, such as Ross Coulthart: her segments and podcast have centered on fame, scandal and the royal family rather than on UAP.
