Ron James is a Los Angeles documentary filmmaker and MUFON's media relations director, known for the Accidental Truth films on UFO crash-retrieval claims and disclosure.
Ron James is an American documentary filmmaker and media producer who heads media relations for MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network, one of the largest civilian UFO investigation groups in the United States. He is best known for the Accidental Truth documentaries, and in 2026 both his sequel and his comments about prominent disclosure figures drew wide attention in UAP media.
According to his promotional biographies, James runs an independent production studio in Los Angeles and came to UFO programming after production work in the music industry with acts including the Smashing Pumpkins and the Beach Boys. He co-founded MUFON Television, an online channel of UAP programming, and produces MUFON series including Bigger Questions, Spacetime and MUFON Presents. Coverage has given his title variously as MUFON's director of media relations, public relations or communications, and he has appeared as a guest on UFO television, including Ancient Aliens.
Accidental Truth: UFO Revelations, released in April 2023 and narrated by actor Matthew Modine, gathered interviews with Representative Tim Burchett, journalist Ralph Blumenthal, Lue Elizondo, Christopher Mellon, Garry Nolan, Michio Kaku and others in a three-part case running from the 1940s to crash-retrieval claims. Reviewing it for The Debrief, Christopher Plain called it the strongest case for crash retrievals he had seen, while noting that its evidence was anecdotal and offered no physical proof. James has said Burchett mentioned the film at the start of the July 2023 House Oversight hearing. In June 2026 researcher Joe Murgia faulted the film for misstating interviewees' credentials, including describing Hal Puthoff as a former CIA operations officer.
The sequel, Accidental Truth: NEXT – Beyond UFO Disclosure, was released on June 2, 2026, on Apple TV, Amazon and YouTube, and is framed around what follows once the reality of UFOs is accepted. James told NewsNation's Elizabeth Vargas Reports that he sees official disclosure as a dead end and believes the public will never learn the entire truth. Filmmaker James Fox publicly backed the release, and the host of the VETTED podcast has said James was an associate producer on its 2026 film Psionics: The Minds That Summon UFOs. In September James joined Fox for a conversation with journalist Elizabeth Lane about whether UAP whistleblowers are telling the truth.
James also became a source of controversy that summer. In a June interview with the UAP Reporting Center, he said he had told Lue Elizondo to his face that he believes Elizondo is still active in intelligence work, and Murgia responded that he did not see James as a credible voice. Combining a senior role at a long-established civilian UFO organization with an independent documentary career, James has become a prominent voice for the view that government disclosure will remain incomplete.
James Fox says there is non human intelligence engaging the human race 🛸👽 Filmmaker James Fox sat down with Elizabeth Lane and Ron James to cut through the noise on overdue UAP disclosure. Two sitting presidents have now spoken publicly about aliens. That has never happened before. The government has released five batches of previously classified material, with more coming. The official site has already drawn 1.7 billion visits. Fox says only 3 to 5 percent of what has dropped so far makes...
Just did an interview with journalist Elizabeth Lane — she agrees that our call to @POTUS for immunity/protection for UAP whistleblowers is incredibly important [Quoted] James Fox, Ron James, and I sat down to finally try to figure out what is really happening with this disclosure that has been overdue for far too long. Are the whistleblowers telling the truth? Is this all a massive psyop? And if it is, what exactly is going on behind the scenes? When it comes to these issues, few people have...

Mufon going hard after Astral, RPK and me Btw mufon…Ron James is an associate producer on my film PSIONICS. 😂 https://t.co/078Mocvbzv [Quoted] @The_Astral_ @VettedPodcast @RedPandaKoala You've got to be kidding. Have any of you guys actually investigated a UFO? Delivered evidence that nobody else ever uncovered? Gone to Washington DC and been involved in the political process of disclosure? A team of what?
From the Ron James documentary, "Accidental Truth: UFO Revelations." If he can't get these basics correct, why should we trust anything he says? "Dr. Hal Puthoff, former CIA operations officer." (Nope. Puthoff was not a CIA operations officer. But his work (beginning of remote viewing) at SRI was funded by the CIA.) "Jim Semivan, a 50-year veteran of NASA, the CIA, and the National Security Agency." (Nope. Semivan is a former Senior Operations Officer for the CIA. NASA and the NSA? What? Pret...
Again, Ron James is not credible, and is a sloppy documentary filmmaker. Maybe Ron should get the resumes correct of the people he mentioned in the first doc (it's so sloppy) and not use a sensationalistic engagement farmer, Elizabeth April, as one of the talking heads. I'll pull the clip tomorrow. https://t.co/FadRyVuKwu [Quoted] 🚨 "I've told Lue Elizondo to his face that I think he's active intelligence." — Ron James Ron claims Elizondo intentionally flashed a fake UFO pic the exact same day Dr. Eric Davis was briefing a congressman on multi-species aliens.
