Accidental Truth: Next – Beyond UFO Disclosure is a 2026 American documentary written, directed and produced by Ron James, the media relations director of MUFON, and the sequel to his 2023 film Accidental Truth: UFO Revelations. It features actor Matthew Modine, narrator of the first film, and actor Thomas Jane, runs about an hour and 45 minutes, and was released on June 2, 2026, through Amazon, Apple TV and YouTube Movies. Its promotion frames the film around a single question: once the reality of UFOs is accepted, what comes next?

The trailer released by MUFON in April lists original interviews with Representatives Tim Burchett, Eric Burlison and André Carson, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, journalists Ralph Blumenthal and Ross Coulthart, scientists Michio Kaku and Garry Nolan, and figures including Lue Elizondo, Richard Dolan, Nick Pope, Whitley Strieber, Rizwan Virk and Danny Sheehan. The film's website describes a journey that "starts inside the stone walls of Washington DC" before moving into broader speculation, and the score is by composer Alan Howarth. One strand concerns a metallic specimen linked to Bennie Foggin: in September the film's website posted a preliminary report on tests that MUFON commissioned from Professor Mark Hammig, alongside two AARO-released documents, including an Oak Ridge National Laboratory analysis, on a sample James had given to Gillibrand's office.

Made and promoted from within the UFO community, the film drew little mainstream critical attention; by October Rotten Tomatoes listed no critic reviews. Its promotion ran largely through UFO media. MUFON released the trailer, filmmaker James Fox publicly offered "deserved support" for James's work, and James promoted later clips, including one on what he called "Lue Elizondo's changing narrative."

James used the release to argue that official disclosure would not deliver the full story. In a June interview on NewsNation's Elizabeth Vargas Reports, he described disclosure as a "dead end" and explained why he believes the public will never know the entire truth about aliens. Built on interviews with members of Congress alongside long-time disclosure advocates and released by a senior figure at one of the largest civilian UFO groups, the film reflects a 2026 turn among disclosure advocates from asking whether UFOs are real to asking what follows if they are.
