UFO of God: The Extraordinary True Story of Chris Bledsoe is the memoir of Chris Bledsoe, a North Carolina businessman who says he has been visited since 2007 by orbs of light and a feminine figure he calls the Lady. Bledsoe published it himself in January 2023 under an imprint named after the book, in paperback, hardcover, ebook and audio, later adding Spanish and Italian translations. Retired CIA operations officer Jim Semivan wrote the foreword, and retired Army colonel John B. Alexander, who had interviewed Bledsoe in 2015, wrote the introduction.
The account turns on 8 January 2007, when Bledsoe says he was fishing on the Cape Fear River with his teenage son and three co-workers, financially ruined by the 2007 crisis and ill with a debilitating chronic disease. By his account he walked off to pray, a UFO appeared and cured him, and after four hours of missing time he and the others fled as several craft followed them home. In Bledsoe's telling, a MUFON team tried to debunk the family while government agencies took the case seriously, and later chapters bring in NASA, the CIA, the church, the Lady, remote viewing and a plot against the Pope.
Semivan, Alexander and Sean Esbjörn-Hargens, dean of the California Institute for Human Science, endorsed the book, and Bledsoe carried it into long-form interviews, among them a February 2025 episode of Shawn Ryan's podcast. The paperback had more than 4,900 Amazon ratings by October 2026, and in March 2026 Bledsoe thanked supporters for making it an Amazon "Number One Best Seller" three years running. Critics were less persuaded. In a skeptical 2024 Substack series, writer Tanner F. Boyle argued that the book's account of Bledsoe's warning about that plot did not fit the timeline of events, and called the former intelligence and military figures vouching for Bledsoe a "self-affirming loop."
The memoir became the source text of the 2026 Bledsoe Prophecy debate, since Bledsoe says it records the Lady's message that new knowledge would come when Regulus appeared red in the gaze of the Sphinx. He named Easter 2026 on Ryan's show; when it passed, attention moved to 7 October. That morning Bledsoe wrote that he had been shown "the alignment, not a date," offered to show what he "actually wrote in UFO of God," and told followers to read the book "and decide for yourself." More than three years after publication, the memoir remained the text Bledsoe pointed to when followers asked what he had foretold.
