Orb UFOs are reports or images in which an unidentified object appears circular, spherical, or like a compact ball of light. The label describes appearance rather than construction. A point source smaller than a camera’s resolving power can look round whether it is a distant aircraft light, star, balloon, drone, bird, flare, or something genuinely unknown. Reports that describe a three-dimensional metallic sphere are more specific, but they still require range and scale information before shape can be established.
Round objects form a prominent share of recent military UAP reporting. AARO’s annual reports list lights and round, spherical, or orb-shaped objects among common witness descriptions, and former director Sean Kirkpatrick displayed a Middle East video of an apparently metallic sphere during a 2023 Senate hearing. That case remained unresolved in the public presentation because the short clip did not supply enough information for attribution, not because the office concluded that it showed non-human technology.
Other official orb-like cases have received ordinary explanations. AARO has attributed some drifting infrared objects to balloons after comparing morphology, direction, and speed with wind conditions. Imaging effects further complicate the category: focus, atmospheric scintillation, glare, compression, and infrared polarity can turn small targets into smooth discs. This is why sensor evidence and military video are strongest when original metadata, platform geometry, radar, and weather records remain available.
“Orb UFO” should also remain distinct from orbs and plasma, which proposes luminous atmospheric or plasma explanations for some observations. Witnesses have reported both apparently solid spheres and diffuse lights, but resemblance across images does not make them one phenomenon. The category is useful for organizing cases and testing recurring explanations; it is too broad to function as a single craft type without corroborating physical and kinematic detail.

This video was filmed Southeast England in June 2025. Witnesses report seeing 3 or 4 of these “luminous orbs”. This is a common UAP morphology according to the Immaculate Constellation report that was entered into the congressional record recently. If anybody has any additional info about this sighting, please share!

This recent Reddit post prompted me to post this video. https://www.reddit.com/r/aliens/s/kng2u9tMki It is basically the same as what I witnessed before I was able to snap myself out of the daze I was in and get my phone and watch it instead of going up into the atmosphere come down to the city I was staying in as 5 smaller orbs. I have an extended version of this video that shows 3 out of the 5 orbs this is just zoomed in on the one that lands closest to me. Weirdly enough it woke me up some...
