Jim Semivan is a retired Central Intelligence Agency operations officer who spent roughly 25 years in the National Clandestine Service. Public biographies describe overseas assignments, senior management responsibilities, and recognition including the Agency’s Career Intelligence Medal. After leaving government, he became one of the founding members of To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science, the organization launched with Tom DeLonge and several former defense and intelligence officials in 2017.
At To The Stars, Semivan helped present UAP as a subject spanning national security, advanced technology, entertainment, and public education. The group’s early team included Luis Elizondo, Hal Puthoff, and Christopher Mellon, and its public launch helped accelerate attention to military encounters and the Pentagon videos. Semivan later remained active through interviews and forums even as the organization’s original structure changed.
He has also described a deeply personal anomalous experience in the early 1990s involving apparent entities in his home. Semivan presents the episode as life-altering and connects it to questions about consciousness, perception, and the nature of reality. The event is his testimony; it lacks independent public documentation sufficient to establish what occurred. His willingness to speak about it makes him both a former intelligence professional and an experiencer within abduction and contact discourse.
Semivan generally argues that the phenomenon may be stranger than visitors arriving in physical spacecraft and that secrecy is reinforced by fear, uncertainty, and the difficulty of communicating transformative experiences.
