The United States military is the collective armed force organized under the Constitution, federal law, and civilian leadership. It includes the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard, with most services administered by the Department of Defense and the Coast Guard normally housed in the Department of Homeland Security. Joint combatant commands direct operations using forces supplied by the services.
“The military” is therefore a useful collective term but not a single office. Pilots, radar operators, intelligence units, laboratories, security forces, and headquarters personnel work under different authorities and record systems. An observation reported by a sailor may be analyzed by a Navy command, shared with a joint task force, and later summarized by an intelligence agency without every institution holding the same data.
Military encounters drove the modern government response to UAP, including the Nimitz cases, East Coast aviator reports, base incursions, and imagery from overseas operations. The services created reporting procedures and supplied cases to the UAP Task Force and AARO. Military origin confirms the operational setting and often the sensor platform; it does not establish an extraordinary cause or guarantee that every public performance claim appears in the classified record.
The military’s lasting importance to UAP and national security comes from its global sensors, controlled airspace, trained observers, and responsibility for threats. Its scale also demands precise attribution. Responsible analysis names the service, unit, command, platform, date, and reporting chain rather than treating all defense activity as one hidden institutional actor. Joint doctrine and service-specific procedures can make the same incident look different at each stage. Preserving those distinctions allows oversight to find the actual point where data were lost, withheld, or reinterpreted rather than attributing every failure to a single monolithic system.

In 2016 a U.S Military aircraft in Mosul Iraq during an active conflict zone. Caught this ufo object on camera this video wasn’t shown to the public until 2023. It was leaked by a filmmaker called Jeremy Corbell and a journalist named George Knapp on there podcast. And to this day it’s one of the best ufo videos in my opinion. And a lot of people can’t explain this video.
