Sean Patrick Hannity (born December 30, 1961, in New York City) is an American conservative broadcaster, host of the Fox News opinion program Hannity and the nationally syndicated radio program The Sean Hannity Show. Raised in Franklin Square on Long Island, he has been with Fox News since its launch and is one of the most prominent figures in conservative media. In 2026 he became one of the most visible mainstream hosts on UFOs, questioning officials, lawmakers and whistleblowers about government secrecy and urging faster release of records.

Hannity began in talk radio in 1989 at KCSB-FM, the volunteer station at the University of California, Santa Barbara, then hosted afternoon talk at WVNN in Athens, Alabama, and moved to WGST in Atlanta in 1992. Roger Ailes hired him in 1996 for the new Fox News Channel, where he co-hosted Hannity & Colmes with Alan Colmes until the program became Hannity in January 2009. His radio show entered national syndication through Premiere Networks on September 10, 2001. His books include Let Freedom Ring (2002) and Live Free or Die (2020).

Hannity is known for coverage supportive of Donald Trump, with whom he grew close during the 2016 campaign; in 2018 it emerged that he had consulted Trump's lawyer Michael Cohen without disclosing it on air. In 2024 he announced that he had moved to Florida and would broadcast from there. In March 2026 Fox News Media launched his twice-weekly long-form podcast, Hang Out with Sean Hannity, recorded on a Florida set he calls his "man cave."

Hannity's UFO interviews began with related national-security stories. On April 22, 2026, Rep. Tim Burchett told him on Fox that "somebody is sending a clear message" regarding reported deaths and disappearances of scientists. On May 5, FBI Director Kash Patel told him on the podcast that UFO files would be released "very soon"; asked whether the United States had ever recovered "alien forms," Patel said he had no information on that. In a clip circulated in June, Hannity said, "I kinda believe it's real," citing "too much compelling stuff" in released material. On June 30 he interviewed Lue Elizondo and Burchett, and Elizondo said he had signed a government document barring him from discussing crash retrievals. Hannity said he would ask Trump, "What are we waiting for?"

In September 2026 Hannity devoted a long podcast episode to Dylan Borland, a former Air Force intelligence specialist, and investigator Ben Hansen. Borland said the government has recovered craft; Hannity suggested that non-human visitors seemed interested in "genes, reproduction," while Borland said he did not know their intent. Hannity again said he would raise disclosure with the President. His 2026 interviews carried crash-retrieval and whistleblower allegations to a large conservative audience close to the administration, and made him one of the most prominent mainstream broadcasters publicly urging further UFO declassification.
