Probed Analysis

UFO videos are moving images of objects or effects that the recorder could not identify at the time. The category ranges from phone footage and cockpit video to infrared targeting pods, radar-linked displays, and classified intelligence sensors. A recording can be authentic footage from a real military platform while the object in it remains ambiguous; authenticity of the file and identification of the subject are separate questions.

The modern benchmark is the Defense Department’s 2020 release of FLIR1, GIMBAL, and Go Fast, recorded by Navy aircrews in 2004 and 2015. The Pentagon confirmed that the videos were genuine unclassified Navy material and that the observed phenomena remained characterized as unidentified at release. That statement did not certify the apparent speed, distance, shape, or extraterrestrial origin inferred by viewers.

Analysis depends on details that compressed clips often omit: sensor mode, field of view, aircraft motion, slant range, wind, tracking behavior, and the difference between line-of-sight movement and physical motion. The Tic Tac UAP case gains context from pilot testimony and shipboard radar reports beyond its infrared clip. Conversely, AARO has resolved some striking videos through parallax, balloons, birds, or sensor artifacts after reconstructing geometry and environmental conditions.

The growing archive includes public releases, leaks, and still-classified material requested by Congress. AARO publishes imagery with case assessments, while advocates argue that higher-quality recordings remain withheld to protect sources and methods. UFO video is therefore most significant as a bridge between testimony and measurement: it preserves sensor output, but its meaning can change substantially when the surrounding data are recovered.

The Nimitz video is one example. It was suspected of being a filmmaking hoax when it appeared online in 2007. According to this writeup of the original discussion, the person who posted it was even banned for hoaxing, years before the Pentagon confirmed it was Navy footage. What other cases are there? By authentic I mean actual footage, not necessarily aliens. Would love links to the original hoax claims and whatever later cleared it up.

I created a new YouTube channel dedicated to the Open Science study of UAP. You will see on this YouTube channel an introductory video describing 7 UAP recordings I have recorded over the last ~ 1.75 years: https://www.youtube.com/@rickavila6594 In my view the best video is a 3 second iphone live photo which I analyze carefully in a second video (UAP video #5). A motion trail image of the primary UAP in that photo/video flies by at an incredible rate of speed, flying low (likely less than 10K...

Crosspost of r/UFOs discussion of Jay Stratton’s explanation for blurry UFO footage in his memoir. The original poster discusses a proposed warp-bubble explanation; this is commentary on a book claim, not verification of that explanation.

In chapter 14 of his new book Out of the Shadows, he explains that UFOs create a warp bubble around their craft which distorts the spacetime around them. This creates major issues when trying to track them by radar or photograph them. Because you are taking a photo of warped spacetime. He likens it to trying to take a photo of a fish deep below the ocean’s surface from above the water. The barrier of a different environment created a distortion. Seems to make a lot of sense. What do you guys...

🚨SCIENTISTS RE-EXAMINE PENTAGON UFO FOOTAGE BUT MISSING DATA LEAVES QUESTIONS UNANSWERED A new scientific paper has challenged the original assessment of six unidentified objects recorded by a U.S. Air Force aircraft over the Middle East on July 29, 2025. The footage was released by the Pentagon in September 2026, along with a military mission report describing six small spherical objects apparently traveling at 480 mph, at an estimated altitude of 22,000 ft. According to the aircrew, the ob...

[Retweeted] Jay Stratton: “Ironically, one of the senior Air Force officials in this meeting (I won’t say which) had recently given me a UAP video he personally filmed from his Air Force aircraft in 1996. The video clearly showed two triangle-shaped UAP flying in formation over a military base in Nevada. This Air Force official told me he knew the UAP were not human technology and even referred to it as belonging to ‘the others,’ but in this meeting he stayed silent.” First of all: a video of...

In 2016 a U.S Military aircraft in Mosul Iraq during an active conflict zone. Caught this ufo object on camera this video wasn’t shown to the public until 2023. It was leaked by a filmmaker called Jeremy Corbell and a journalist named George Knapp on there podcast. And to this day it’s one of the best ufo videos in my opinion. And a lot of people can’t explain this video.

Now you see them. Now you don’t. Now there’s one. Suddenly, there are five. New frame by frame analysis of the unresolved 2023 military #UAP footage from the Middle East. https://t.co/m3qcPVvkgD
