Brandi Vincent is an American defense-technology journalist and a senior reporter at DefenseScoop, the Scoop News Group outlet that covers how the U.S. military buys and uses technology. Her main beat is emerging technologies and the policies that affect the Pentagon and military personnel, from artificial intelligence to drones and counter-drone programs. Since late 2022 she has also been one of the most consistent trade-press reporters on the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office and federal policy on unidentified anomalous phenomena.

Vincent grew up in south Louisiana and holds a master's degree in journalism from the University of Maryland. Before moving into defense reporting she produced a long-form documentary and helped create news content at Snapchat and NBC. At Nextgov she was a defense technology correspondent covering national-security technology and produced the Critical Update podcast. The National Press Foundation named her one of its 2021 Paul Miller Washington Reporting Fellows, and according to DefenseScoop she was named Best New Journalist at the 2024 Defence Media Awards.

Her UAP coverage began in December 2022, when she reported on the Pentagon's shift to the broader term "unidentified anomalous phenomena" as AARO prepared to investigate objects in the air, in space, under water and moving between domains. Through 2023 she followed the office's growing caseload, which passed 650 cases that April, the July congressional hearing at which Pentagon officials and witnesses clashed, and the departure of founding director Sean Kirkpatrick that December. She reported in August 2024 that a senior National Security Agency researcher, Jon Kosloski, would lead the office, and later covered its annual reports, the New Jersey drone sightings and the 2025 disclosure hearings.

Her 2026 reporting tracked the federal disclosure effort after President Trump said he would direct agencies to release UAP records. In February she reported that AARO's caseload had passed 2,000 as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth promised compliance, and in March, with Madison Alder, that the White House had registered alien-themed .gov domains. Her May 14 story on the first file release under the PURSUE program took its headline from Christopher Mellon's remark that "data alone is not disclosure," and Mellon publicly praised it for capturing his views. Later stories covered AARO's fiscal 2025 annual report, which disclosed a Navy report of roughly 100 objects and watercraft off the Virginia coast, the office's planned sole-source subscription to the archive of historian David Marler, and a September Pentagon waiver letting people with UAP knowledge speak to PURSUE representatives without breaching nondisclosure agreements.
