FBI-UAP-D043: Agents’ triangular-object observation report

This redacted 2026 FBI record reproduces two special agents’ statement about a dark triangular object observed visually and through a handheld thermal device. It records estimated dimensions, a vertical rise, a southeast descent, no detected sound and about three seconds of visibility. Nine accompanying landscape illustrations depict an object’s changing position; they do not supply authenticated sensor measurements or identify its origin.

Probed Assessment

The file preserves witness estimates and illustrative images, with no established identity, origin or independently measured performance.

Key takeaways

  • Two agents co-sign the statement; a separate post supplied the initial detection alert.
  • Thermal appearance, dimensions and distances are reported observations or estimates.
  • The FBI statement says about three seconds; the paired AARO memo records a longer sequence and different size estimates.
  • The illustrations show a sequence but are not presented as original sensor frames.

Why it matters

This statement provides a primary witness account that can be compared with the officially paired AARO debrief, including differences that should remain visible rather than be reconciled by assumption.

Corroboration

War.gov explicitly pairs this file with DOW-UAP-D176. That pairing supplies case context, not independent confirmation of every estimate. Redactions and the lack of raw instrument data limit verification.

Open questions

  • • Why do the FBI and AARO records give different timing and size estimates?
  • • Are original thermal recordings or calibrated measurements available?
  • • What method and source information were used to create the illustrations?

Probed separates this editorial assessment from the source claims below. It summarizes what the released artifact supports; it is not independent verification.

Official Description from War.gov

This document is an FBI FD-302, a form the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) uses to record interviews. This FD-302 records a 2026 interview with two Federal Special Agents, in which the interviewees describe an incident reported as involving unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP) at a national security site in 2026.

Preserved verbatim as source metadata. This wording is separate from Probed’s file-specific description and assessment.

Two agents signed the observation account

The FBI form reproduces a written statement co-signed by two special agents; their names and the precise site and date are redacted.

Report records thermal observation at 1923 hours

The statement gives approximately 1923 hours and an initial thermal detection reported at an estimated bearing of 251 degrees.

Agents described a black triangular or delta shape

After the notification, two observers moved to the western side of their post and described a nonreflective black triangular object resembling a delta-wing drone.

Dimensions were visual estimates

The witnesses estimated a wingspan of nine to fifteen feet, depth of six to nine feet and thickness of one to two feet; these are estimates, not calibrated measurements.

Report gives a brief, silent observation

The FBI statement specifies approximately three seconds for the entire sighting and says neither observer heard sound.

Agent impressions are not a Bureau finding

The FBI form explicitly says it contains neither recommendations nor conclusions of the Bureau.

First illustration is a reconstruction, not a photograph

The first image-only page depicts a thin dark object against a distant mountain slope in an uncaptioned landscape illustration.
